Florida is much more than great sunny beach days and theme parks. It’s full of special events, festivals and fun all year long and throughout the entire state! Of course, we just had the Daytona 500 in February, but there is so much more to look forward to this year!
March 3-4 is the Seafood and Music Festival in St. Petersburg. Daytona Bike Week starts March 9th. Then there is the Gasparilla Music Festival March 10th. St. Augustine holds its Seafood Festival March 16th; the Barberville Strawberry Festival is March 17th; and Delray Beach’s Bacon and Bourbon Festival is March 23rd. Mmmm, what could be wrong with that?
Sarasota holds its Lido Beach Spring Fine Arts Festivals on April 7th, and the Sun ‘n Fun International Fly-In and Expo is the 10th. Suwannee River holds its Catfish Festival April 14th. Then there are the Dragon Boat Festival in Sarasota and the Tampa Bay Seafood and Music Festival on the 21st.
Venice Seafood and Music Festival is May 5th, but May also holds a whole bunch more in store…the Jacksonville Art in the Heart, Deerfield Beach Wine and Food Festival, Art in the Park in Pensacola and the Cocoa Summer Craft Fair.
June is time for the Leesburg Corn Festival, Gator Jam Music Festival in Miami and the Antiques Festival in West Palm Beach. July is full of celebrations and parades in celebration of the 4th, throughout the state. There is also the Cedar Key Clam Festival and Christmas in July at Port Charlotte Cultural Center.
Tallahassee holds a North Florida Literacy Festival in August; Vero Beach has its Riverside Dance Festival, Dunes and Tunes Arts and Music Festival is in Fernandina Beach, and Tampa has its August Lobster Festival.
September is time for the 36th International Reggae Festival in Fort Lauderdale, Oktoberfest in Panama City, Caribbean Soul Festival in St. Augustine, the Palm Beach Seafood Festival and the Amelia Island Blues Festival.
Join us in October for Daytona Biketoberfest, the 30th Miami/Broward Carnival, Pumpkin Palooza in St. Petersburg. The Miami Boat Show is every February, but there is also one in Ft. Lauderdale in October.
New Port Richey holds a Greek Festival November 2, and Orlando has one on the 3rd. The 4th is the Miami/Fort Lauderdale Pet Expo and the Boca Raton Wine and Food Festival, and the 43rd Harvest Festival is in Miami.
December is full of Christmas parades, craft fairs and tree lighting galore throughout Florida, but don’t miss the Cracker Christmas in Umatilla, the Holiday Boutique Vendor Show in DeBary or Christmas on the Square in Live Oak!
